FIFA is series of association football video games that has been produced by EA Vancouver for over 20 years and is now the largest sports video game franchise in the world. EA Vancouver is the largest and oldest Electronic Arts studio, employing approximately 1,300 people and housing the world's largest video game test operation.

A vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, Aladdin will be released on May 24, 2019. It stars Canadian actor Mena Massoud as Aladdin. Visual effects for the film were produced by Industrial Light & Magic’s Vancouver studio.

Rachel McAdams' portrayal of journalist Sacha Pfeiffer gained her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Space Explorers is a VR series showcasing the new age of space exploration created by Felix & Paul, an Emmy award-winning entertainment studio. The series is narrated by Oscar-winner Brie Larson. Felix & Paul are leading the VR industry globally with their augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality experiences. Felix & Paul is headquartered in Montreal with offices in Los Angeles. They have a team of 60 who have full creative capabilities along with the technological experience who develop these fully immersive experiences.
Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse is a 2018 computer animated superhero movie featuring the character Miles Morales. The lead animators are Canadians and the majority of the animation was done in Sony PIctures Entertainment's Vancouver studio. Not only was this movie a global blockbuster, but it won a 2019 Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature and is nominated for a 2019 Academy Award in the same category.

In an interview about the show, Priestley said a growing number of TV shows aren’t hiding the fact they are shot in Toronto anymore because it has become a “world-class city”.

Unit 9 is one of the most watched television programs in Quebec, airing on ICI Radio-Canada since 2012. The series follows Marie Lamontagne (played by Canadian actress Guylaine Tremblay) who, sentenced for attempted murder, lives in Unit 9 of Lietteville, a federal Penitentiary for women. The series tells the stories of many of the women she meets while incarcerated and explores the realities of the criminal justice system. The exterior shots at Lietteville are shot in the Rivière-des-Prairies Detention Center, while the indoor scenes were built in the basement of Maison de Radio-Canada.
Industrial Light & Magic is a visual effects company founded by George Lucas, filmmaker and entrepreneur, in 1975. In 2012, the company expanded its global operations and opened their first Canadian studio in Vancouver. In the last several years ILM Vancouver office has grown exponentially and has produced effects work for several major motion pictures, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Solo, Rogue One, Aquaman, Ready Player One, Black Panther, Jurassic World, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok and is currently contributing to Captain Marvel and Aladdin.

Premier John Horgan said 20th Century Fox contributed $100 million in the provincial economy during Deadpool 2’s 80 days of production last summer. Deadpool 2 would end up as the highest grossing R-rated film of all time.
Rodeo FX was founded in 2006 in Montreal by Sébastien Moreau, primarily working on special effects for films. In 2013, the company started producing visual effects for television for the first time, creating over 150 visually altered shots for the fourth season of the popular series Game of Thrones, which garner three Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Effects and three HPA (Hollywood Professional Association) Awards. Some notable work from the studio includes Fantastic Beasts, Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Justice League, Blade Runner 2049 and Deadpool.

He survives 227 days after a shipwreck while stranded on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. The novel has sold more than ten million copies worldwide and won the Man Booker Prize in 2002. The story starts with a young writer meeting Pi Patel in Canada.

Jacob Tremblay (Vancouver), who won raves as the child of Brie Larson’s kidnap victim in the Oscar-winning “Room,” is August “Auggie” Pullman, born with a disfiguring facial genetic defect. It took two hours every day to put on his makeup. “I had to wake up very early and get on set before everyone else. It took two hours to put on the makeup. But the first time I looked in the mirror, it looked realistic,” he said. “It really brings Auggie to life.”

The Barbarian Invasions is a film written and directed by Denys Arcand and starred Rémy Girard, Stéphane Rousseau and Marie-Josée Croze. Shot mainly in Montreal, it was the first Canadian film to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, at the 76th Academy Awards in 2004. It won awards at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, six Genie Awards, including Best Motion Picture, and three César Awards, including Best Film.

The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was the United States.

A Canadian co-production, the film was shot in Toronto, with the infamous 'room' set built at Toronto's Pinewood Studios.

Mommy is a 2014 Canadian film directed by Xavier Dolan and filmed in Longueuil, Quebec. The story is about a mother who is struggling to raise his sometimes violent son alone. Mommy went on to win numerous other awards, among them nine Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Motion Picture. Dolan has directed no fewer than six highly successful feature films, beginning with I Killed My Mother, made when he was 19. He scraped together money from his entire savings to make the film himself, eventually winning international acclaim.

The TV drama first aired in 2008 and has featured numerous Canadian guest stars, including an appearance in Season 4 by then Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.

Orphan Black (2013-2017) is a critically acclaimed science fiction thriller television series created by Canadians John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, produced by Canadian production company Boat Rocker Media, and filmed in Toronto.
It stars Regina-born Tatiana Maslany, who played five leading roles, as different clones who set out to solve the mystery behind their creation. The series themes of identity, autonomy, feminism, diversity, inclusion resonated with young women across Canada and USA.
Over its five-season run on Space in Canada and BBC America, Orphan Black won numerous awards, including a Peabody Award and 36 Canadian Screen Awards, three of which were for best dramatic series. Most notably, Maslany became the first Canadian actor on a Canadian show to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

The exterior of Kim's Convenience is actually long-established "Mimi Variety" at 252 Queen Street East.
A Telefilm Canada/France/Belgium co-production, Les Triplettes de Belleville won a Genie for best picture. It was also nominated for an Academy Award for best animated feature and best original song.

Letterkenny was the first original series commissioned by Bell Media’s CraveTV. It revolves around the residences of a fictional Canadian town called Letterkenny and is the evolution of a web series created by Jared Keeso (Listowel) based on his experiences of growing up in small town Canada. Keeso also stars in the series, alongside Canadians Nathan Dales, K. Trevor Wilson and Jacob Tierney, who also directs and writes the show. According to BellMedia, Letterkenny had the biggest debut of any series on the platform since its launch in 2014.

Mean Girls (2004) is a teen comedy classic that introduced both the word "fetch" and Rachel McAdams to the world. In addition to being made with a largely local crew, Mean Girls boasts several other Canadians in the cast and production including Diego Klattenhoff (Nova Scotia) as Shane Oman. Choreographer Donna Feore (British Columbia) was responsible for the "Jingle Bell Rock" talent show number, which Ariana Grande paid homage to in her "Thank You, Next" music video.

Indian Horse, based on the award-winning novel by Richard Wagamese (Ontario) and directed by Stephen S. After a world premiere at the TIFF in 2017, Indian Horse played in film festivals across Canada, winning nine awards, including Super Channel People's Choice Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival. The movie features stand out performances by Sladen Peltier and Ajuawak Kapashesit who both play Saul Indian Horse at different ages.
Disney-Pixar’s short film, Bao, directed and written by Sheridan College Alumni, Domee Shi is nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short. The Canadian is the first woman to helm a Pixar short film. At only 29, she is one of Pixar’s most prolific young talents, expected to continue to make waves in the industry. Bao, which accompanied the feature film “Incredibles 2,” tells the heartfelt story of a Chinese-Canadian empty nester whose dumpling pops to life. The love letter to Toronto shows the pair riding the TTC, shopping in Chinatown and doing tai chi in a park by the CN Tower. Shi is currently working on her first feature film for Pixar.

A large part of the sequel’s success came from its visually stunning effects and its tonal and visual similarities to the original film, winning the film Oscars for Best Achievement in Cinematography and Visual Effects.

C.R.A.Z.Y. is a 2005 coming-of-age film directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and co-written by Vallée and François Boulay. The film became a critical and commercial smash hit - it has won 10 Genie Awards and 12 Jutra Awards (now Prix Iris) — including best picture, director, screenplay and actor at both galas — as well as the Golden Reel Award and the Billet d’Or as the year’s top-grossing domestic film in Canada and Québec, respectively. Anne with an E is a Canadian television series based on the classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, a coming-of-age story about a young orphan who is seeking love, acceptance and her place in the world. The series was adapted by Emmy-winning writer and producer, Canadian Moira Walley-Beckett (Vancouver) in 2017, and its third season is schedule to premier on CBC and Netflix in late 2019.
Aside from its source material, Anne with an E incorporates Canadian touches across production - taking advantage of Canada’s landscape for its locations, filming across Southern Ontario and Prince Edward Island; using “Ahead by a Century” by iconic Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip over its opening credits and selecting lead actress Amybeth McNulty, a Canadian-Irish actress from over 1800 auditions on three continents.

The film was also shot at the North Shore Studios. Fifty Shades of Grey is based on a series of novel by E.L. James, starring Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, a college graduate who begins a sadomasochistic relationship with young business magnate Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.
